General
cryptovision implements Intel's Software Guard Extensions (SGX)
cryptovision is one of the first companies worldwide to have implemented Intel's Software Guard Extensions (SGX). The SGX technology provides protected memory areas (enclaves) on Intel computers. SGX enclaves have numerous applications in cryptography. In a reference implementation, which is presented in Klaus Schmeh's iX article as well as at the RSA Conference, cryptovision uses SGX for PIN caching. Intel was very supportive in this project. It is expected that in the near future other cryptovision products will make use of SGX enclaves as well.
